Something Besides Gay Porn*
*Caleb said he didn’t want to be associated with the words “gay porn.”
My friend Shark’s mom, who is a devout Catholic (and reader of this blog…hi Mary!) one time emailed her son. “Is Brie’s friend DEH gay?” she asked.
In case you still have any doubt, Mary, I give you this post.
Whenever Caleb and I throw a dinner party, it inevitably devolves into a dance-a-thon in which no money is raised, I just didn’t want to use “party” twice in one sentence. Fail.
Last night, we had such an affair.
After we enjoyed lettuce wrapped shrimp spring rolls and pho bo (Vietnamese beef soup) made by Caleb—and let me say, the meal was so good I was briefly transported back to a tiny plastic table on the streets of Saigon, sweating my ass off—all the girls got up and started gyrating wildly.
It was a group of the usual suspects: me, DEH, AJ, and Alex, DEH’s roommate and body double. When we got bored of each other, we got down to grinding on the straight males in the party, much to their enjoyment.
Shark in particular said he looked forward to seeing pictures like this on Facebook:

There’s not much more really to say, except that we danced off all the calories we ate, and then collapsed on the couch with Ben & Jerry’s to watch Strangers With Candy.
The last time we had a party, I saw our downstairs neighbor on the street the next day.
“Sorry if we were loud last night, we had a Madonna dance party,” I said.
“I know,” he told me.
If I saw him today, I’d have said: “Sorry if we were loud last night, we were making PG gay porn.”
“I know,” he’d tell me. “I could hear someone’s shirt snapping off until the wee hours of the morning.”
